WHAT TO WEAR: Casual Date Night

What to Wear

With going out on the very first date comes the time old question of, “What should I wear?” It always seems to be a matter of not wanting to dress up too fancy, and not wanting to be under-dressed. How do you make the right impressions without coming off as something you are not? I suppose it really is all about finding the perfect medium. Finding that perfect simple go-to outfit, that makes it look like you are trying without trying too hard.

I am all about what this Fashionista did here. She totally rocked the casual first date look. She picked a really simple chic long sleeved dress. I really love the stripes on the dress too. It is a definite way to add attention (plus the multitude of the horizontal stripes will make you look taller). It has the perfect classic neckline so it leaves something to your date’s imagination! Also the length of her dress is perfect—it is short and flirty, yet not too short and “club-esque”.

I really love how this Fashionista kept this look cute and spunky by adding a leather vest. This season it is all about the leather, and what a great way to embrace it by wearing an awesome side-zip vest.

For this look, this Fashionista really kept it perfectly casual with her lace-up wedge boots. I am a huge fan of wearing boots with dresses. I really feel like pumps could easily get too fancy with a dress. Using pumps with skinny jeans would be another great casual date night look.

For your casual date night this look is easy to replicate. Just pick your favorite dress and add an exciting statement piece, like a leather or fur vest. If you do not want to try the vest look, then a blazer is always the perfect solution. For those of you who just refuse to wear dresses, then I say rock the skinny jeans with a pair of colored pumps or boots!

One Simple Change: Harness your inner ’90s and try a denim jacket instead of a leather blazer and now you have the perfect look to wear to an outside concert in the spring months.
