The extremely unstable weather that we’ve been receiving here in Hampton, Virginia, has the ability to put a damper on not only the moods of Hampton University students, but our outfit choices as well. After passing quite a few people dressed mostly in hoodies and sweatpants, it was very refreshing when I encountered this Fashionisto. His jacket/tie combo and sophisticated look made him a guaranteed stand out and worthy of this week’s FASHIONISTO SPOTLIGHT.

Jarad Ford: Simple and sophisticated.
CF: Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
JF: I get a lot of inspiration from TSBMen.com, GQ and my father.
CF: What’s the best piece of fashion advice that your father has given you?
JF: My father always keeps me by the book. He has always taught me to just dress the part and to present myself well.
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
JF: I have an endless collection of ties and blazers.
CF: What is your favorite tie in your closet?
JF: It’s actually a bow tie and I use two ties to make one. They each have different accents but they come together perfectly.
CF: What are your favorite seasons in fashion?
JF: I would have to say winter because I like the layered look, and summer because of the freedom of what I get to wear and the color palette I get to choose from.
