ACCESSORIES REPORT: Wrap It, Tie it, Twist It

Accessories Report

You can wrap it, tie it, twist it and so much more, but no, this is not the extremely fun Bop It game from our childhood; I am talking about scarves. The best thing about a scarf is its versatility. You never have to wear it the same way twice.

Scarves come in different colors, fabrics, patterns and so much more. Whether you want a scarf to keep you warm on a chilly winter morning or add something to a simple outfit, a scarf is your best accessory. This week’s Fashionista utilized a scarf for latter.

Her outfit is basic: a black T-shirt and capris. What made this Fashionista stand out to me was the detail of her scarf. The multi-colored and multi-printed infinity scarf was exactly what her outfit needed to individualize it.

As I mentioned before, there is a plethora of scarves to choose from. The infinity scarf, which is what this Fashionista is wearing, has become very popular. All you have to do is throw it on, wrap it around once and you are ready to go.

If you want a fashion scarf to add some color to an outfit, you want to look for scarves that have a lighter fabric and are longer in length. The chunkier and shorter a scarf is, the more difficult it becomes to wrap and tie it. Also, the lighter a scarf is the more seasons you can wear it in. Even in the winter a light scarf over a heavy sweater makes the perfect accessory.

South Moon Under has a great selection of scarves if you are in the market for a new one!

Spotted: Mulberry featured scarves and heavier coats in their fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection.
