I love this Fashionista’s look because it incorporates some of the big winter season items. Boots are a winter must-have but even more importantly so are tights. I love the fact that she is wearing a skirt even though it is cooler outside. The simple white shirt with the floral skirt balances the outfit perfectly.
Just because the cold weather has taken over, that does not mean you have to hide your legs. Keep your dresses and skirts in your closet and stock up on tights!
My favorite accessories for this season are tights and high knee socks. They add personality to an outfit and warmth. I love skirts and dresses because they are comfortable and the addition of tights makes the perfect combination as this Fashionista has shown us.
Another bonus is that these accessories are inexpensive. Forever 21 has tights for as cheap as five dollars. When I was younger, I used to hate wearing tights but all of the different colors and patterns are so fun to mix and match. Urban Outfitters has a nice variety of high-knee socks.
You can also leave out some of your jean shorts to pair with tights. Shorts, tights and a pair of combat boots can be a great cold weather look with a grunge feel.
With tights, you can step out of your comfort zone a little bit. It doesn’t have to be too “matchy.” This Fashionista was able to pull off a patterened skirt and patterned tights.
A final tip is to make sure you have boots that are a little loose around the calves so you put them on while wearing tights and socks.
Spotted: Tory Burch featured tights in its fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection.
