November Mood Board—Come Together

When it comes to word association, the first word that pops into my head when you say November is “togetherness.” I would be remiss if I didn’t at least acknowledge that Thanksgiving is central to this connotation. As soon as the calendar flips to November, there is a sense of community and unity that seems to fill the air. For many college students, November is the first time since heading to school that they are reunited with their family and friends back home. But it is not just these reunions and festive holiday meals that invoke the sense of togetherness this month. (In fact, the copious amounts of sweet potato casserole and stuffing I consume tends to lead to my pants failing to come together.)

This month ushers in plenty of opportunities and moments to bring people together. With finals around the corner, there are study groups to attend and library dates to be made. The settling in of the colder temperatures practically requires you to snuggle up with your roommate for a cozy night in for survival purposes. And this November is extra special, as the country comes together and elects a new president; a decision that is both highly emotional and historical no matter the outcome.

All these things evoke a need and calling to unite and bring people, seasons and places together. November is full of moments and milestones that prove that while being an individual is important, there is something to be said for the power of coming together. We here at CollegeFashionista will be bringing you content inspired by the colors, mood and sense of community that this November ushers in.
