I, personally, adore the weekends. They're a time when I can don my recent purchases from my latest shopping spree and let loose after the intense school week I just barely survived. So after an eventful weekend, Mondays are not what I normally look forward to. Mondays are the time when I am physically and mentally exhausted from having partaken in a glorious weekend that there is no way I can gather the energy to create a fabulous outfit. Many of my recent posts have been about dressing comfortably while still looking good and in my opinion, this advice truly comes into play on Mondays. In this day and age, I feel like so many Fashionistas and Fashionistos strive to look good but go to any means to achieve that. Beauty does not have to be pain despite what so many of us have heard.
I spotted this Fashionisto sitting in class; he looked so comfortable in his shorts, sandals and sweater. I had seen him around before and noticed that he wore exceptionally fashionable outfits regulalrly but today he particularly looked so cool and casual in a creation that looked effortless yet perfect for this particular Monday. I, on the other hand, chose to wear new shoes that were killing my feet and a blouse that I was freezing in (my building has a stellar A/C system) so obviously your Style Guru was jealous. When I questioned him after class I asked him why he was wearing an outfit so different from his norm and he swiftly responded, “I woke up this morning and really had an urge to dress comfortably. It was just one of those days and I couldn't be bothered.” Well Fashionistos, it can't be denied that we have all had those days and it is definitely acceptable to dress comfortably as long as we still look presentable (i.e. well groomed, clean and smelling delicious!). You can purchase a knit top like this Fashionisto's at most stores, like this one from Forever 21. Here is also an example of shorts you can purchase. Lastly, any sandals would do but my recommendation is to invest in a pair of Rainbow Sandals which mold to your feet after just a few wears and last quite long.
Hint: Fashionistos, remember that dressing comfortably does not always mean that your outfit has to be bland. Today's Fashionisto mixed his outfit by wearing a gray knit top and salmon pink shorts so his outfit was still appealing to the eye. Colors can make or break your outfit so do not be afraid to experiment!
