Fashionista/os can present such elegance and neatness with their style, whether it comes from their prints, garments or even statement socks! I was impressed and attracted to this fabulous looking Fashionista, who was outside of the RISD auditorium. Let’s see what she had to say about her personal style.
Name: Kisa Shiga
Major: Apparel
Year: Junior
CollegeFashionista: What’s your favorite documentary?
Kisa Shiga: Raised in Queens, New York.
CF: If you could choose to live in another era, when would you live? ’70s, ’80s or ’90s?
KS: The ’80s or ’90s because of the music. Old school bass jams are too bomb.
CF: What inspires you when it comes to designing apparel?
KS: Growing up where I did really influenced me, and I think my work usually takes some elements from street/urban culture, along with the cleanliness of a Japanese aesthetic. But in general, I’m inspired by anything that was relevant to me growing up. Right now I’m working on a men’s collection that is inspired by PeeWee’s Playhouse and the movement in sound and music.
CF: For a casual evening in studio, what would we find you wearing?
KS: Nothing fancy–just a T-shirt, pants and fun socks.
CF: Do you follow any fashion blogs? Would you recommend any?
KS: I really don’t keep up with any fashion blogs.
How To: Are you inspired by Kisa’s look? Perhaps you are inspired by her styling!
