Fashionista/os present a classic and elegant look by wearing a dark color palette. I was impressed and attracted to this Fashionista, who was outside of the print-making building, and her elegant, chic look. Lets see what she has to say about her style!
Name: Carmen Margarita Rivera-Fullana
Major: Apparel Design
Year: Junior
CollegeFashionista: I am so attracted to your unique outfit and the individual pieces of clothing that you have styled together. Can you tell us about your personal style?
Carmen Margarita Rivera-Fullana: I mostly wear neutrals for the winter–pieces I can mix and match without putting much thought to it. I hate the idea of planning what to wear every morning.
CF: What inspires you when it comes to designing apparel? Do you have a website?
CMRF: I source my inspiration from art, primarily, but I also love looking at architecture and translating it into my designs. My website is: http://cargocollective.com/carmenmrivera.
CF: Do you have any fashion industry idols? If so, who and why?
CMRF: I’ve always loved Marc Jacobs. He is, to me, the epitome of American fashion and my first impression of it, but I respect Cristobal Balenciaga and his legacy the most. Balenciaga was the original innovator.
CF: Do you follow any fashion blogs? If so, would you recommend any?
CMRF: My favorite blog is This is Paper. It is mostly an architecture and photography blog, but it also showcases some new up-and-coming fashion designers. I also like the blog Fashematics, which cleverly makes fun of fashion and its icons.
