If you have been living on the east coast like me, you know that the weather is always fluctuating. One day it will be 75 degrees and sunny, and the next it will be 50 degrees and raining. One accessory that battles the fluctuating weather is the lace-up short boot. It can be paired with long pants, a T-shirt and sweater or a sundress.
I spotted this Fashionista as she was walking out of the library. Her floral print shirt, burgundy cardigan and jeans create the perfect spring outfit for a cold and windy day. While her camel short lace-up boots are a great finishing touch, accessorizing her feet. One of the best things about short boots is that they elongate your legs. While tall boots have the tendency to cut your legs off and make them seem shorter, short boots do the opposite. They allow more of your leg to be shown, which gives the illusion that your legs are extremely long (even if you’re under 5’3” and short like me).
To get a look similar to this Fashionista, try the TROOPA boot by Steve Madden in stone leather or cognac or these H by Hudson Danson lace-up boots in black. Pair your boots with your favorite pair of skinny jeans and a pastel or floral top, and you’re ready for a cool spring day. As the weather warms, switch your jeans with a skirt or try a sundress with a high-low hemline.
Spotted: Take inspiration from Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2009 to wear your short lace-up boots. Think about switching the tights with a bare leg and the wool fedora with a straw one!
