STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tucked To Perfection

Style Advice of the Week

To untuck or tuck in a shirt is a question of the past. Every season the answer to this question either changes or stays the same, but I think it is safe to say with fall right around the corner, the answer is to tuck it in!

Today’s Fashionista was spotted strolling through campus with her bold boots, high-waisted shorts and her shirt tucked in. The way she styled this ensemble took advantage of all the different elements each article of clothing had to offer. I love how every part of her outfit has a different style to it. Her shorts are grunge, the shirt is glam, her boots are combat and her necklaces add a touch of tribal. All in all, this outfit is one of a kind.

With fall fashion coming into play, layering will be essential to most ensembles. To have your shirt or blouse tucked or untucked will be an outfit maker! No matter what you’re wearing this fall there will always be the option to go tucked in or untucked. My number one priority for finding out which way to go is right for you is finding out what style complements your body type.

My favorite items of clothing to wear with my blouse tucked in are pencil skirts, high-waisted shorts and high-waisted pants. With your shirt tucked in, these bottoms can complement your figure while giving your look an edge. I would leave my blouse untucked with leggings, shorter skirts, skinny jeans and tights. These bottoms are already form fitting and tighter on your lower half, so having an oversized or flowing blouse will make these bottoms look even better.

One trick I like to use when tucking in my shirt is adding a belt. Sometimes different materials clash or extra fabric can leave lumps in your style; mesh prints together, add emphasis and smooth out your look with a belt!
