Have You Been Using These Beauty Products To The Max Potential?

When traveling, I find myself always over packing. What if I need three sweaters? Why wouldn’t I need every sandal I’ve ever purchased? No matter what, I always end up having to sit on my suitcase to get it to fully zip closed.

There are certain things I always seem to limit myself when packing and that is makeup. Sure, it doesn’t take up that much space, but why bring my entire collection of lipsticks if I don’t need to?

I’ve collected some products over the years that I know I can count on and I can also use them for many different uses. Using products for multiple uses not only saves you space, but also saves you time and money in the long run!

Non-Eyeshadow Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow palettes are often really big and fill up a lot of valuable space in your makeup bag. If I know I don’t need elaborate shades, I’ll simply use my bronzer, highlighter, and blush as shadows. Bronzer looks really good all over the lid and in your crease for definition, highlighter can brighten up your inner corners, and blush can add a little extra dimension. Play around with shades and pack your favorites that you know look great on you.

Lipstick is the New Blush

Lipstick has SO many uses other than to make your pout look full of life. Lipstick, depending on the shade, can be used for blush or as a cream shadow. A mauve shade is beautiful if used on the lips, cheeks, and seamlessly blended out on the lid. I suggest using your (clean!) fingers to blend this out for everything; the heat from your hands will warm up the product and help it blend out.

All Eyes

If you use a brow pencil, this can double as a very subtle eyeliner. It’s likely your brow pencil isn’t a harsh, dark color so you will have a natural look every time you use it. Blend it out lightly for a smudged, smoked out look.

Not Not Dry Shampoo

Another tip that I have heard is to use translucent powder as dry shampoo. This is really great if you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to wash and blow dry your hair.

Next time you’re packing for a weekend getaway or for spring break coming up, think of ways to use things in more than one way. Ask yourself, “What products can I live without?” and then find a substitute for the product with one that serves another purpose.
