I’m your new Style Guru, and I could not be more excited to become more integrated into the fashion scene at the University of Pennsylvania!
Many things have influenced my style, but mostly the music I listen to. As a lover of all things (especially music) from the '50s to the '80s, I often try to mesh my love for edgy, vintage items and modern, chic femininity. My mood and the music I listen to in the morning often dictate what I wear, and with an iTunes account filled with everything from David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Tom Waits, Amy Winehouse, and Elvis to Nicki Minaj, my everyday style changes just as a much as a chameleon on a tie-dye rug. While I do try to mix up what I wear, I am a complete sucker for all things black or chiffon.
I have always been passionate about expressing myself through my clothing, however, I first became involved in the fashion world this year as a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to working for CollegeFashionista, I am a layout contributor and street blogger for The Walk as well as the Blog Editor for UPenn’s section of Her Campus.
While I love to stay in touch with all of the recent fashion trends, I am also a firm believer that style should be unique to a person. Fashion rebels and those with outrageous and distinct styles are my fashion inspiration. Fashion is simply the art of expressing oneself through clothing, so I cannot wait to see and show you the fabulous things that UPenn’s Fashionistas have to say!
