While this Fashionista may not be the most in-tune with the great outdoors, she certainly knows how to mimic Mother Nature’s natural beauty. Wearing a range of mossy greens, earthy browns and a bright shade of cream, this Fashionista embodied the typical earth toned fall palette in a refreshing and innovative way. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, this Fashionista showed off her sartorial flair while remaining as down to earth (toned) as ever.
Upon spotting this Fashionista, I was immediately drawn to the organic color palette of her outfit. By wearing entirely neutral tones, this Fashionista created an intricately colored ensemble that also remained cohesive. The small variances in color throughout her outfit helped establish differences in articles of clothing without having the colors compete against each other or appear too similar. By likewise incorporating assorted textures throughout the outfit, this week’s Fashionista created a further element of interest to her outfit. Natural fabrics including suede, leather and cotton dominated the outfit and added to its overall cohesive appearance.
To finish off her look, this Fashionista accessorized with a mossy knit circle scarf and a pair of green and brown laced leather boots. While I immediately fell in love with the natural green circle scarf, I even more so was in love with this Fashionista’s over-the-knee boots. The gentle distress of the fabric renders the boot more natural than glossier leathers, while the colored threading in the back of the shoe adds a touch of vintage elegance.
To achieve a look similar to this Fashionista’s, make sure to experiment with the neutrals in your closet. Try, for example, pairing this Salvatore Ferragamo brown sugar wool-cashmere cape with a pair of olive skinny jeans and espresso booties.
