Style Guru Bio: Miloni Sheth

Uncategorized

Spring is the perfect time of the year to get wrapped in heavenly fabrics, vivid colors, lace and floral prints. So, bloom this season as I bring you all the latest trends on and around campus. I’m Miloni Sheth from NIFT Mumbai studying Fashion Communication and I’m an ardent fashion follower. As a child, I have been captivated by fashion and my urge to understand design and aesthetics has brought me to be a sophomore at NIFT. This is my second semester at CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru, this time writing for the STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK column.

I believe fashion is not guided by any boundaries or rules; it’s purely an art of personal self-expression. It’s a statement, not a style. For me, my look is usually a reflection of my mood and I take inspiration from the world around me. I love wearing something that is unconventional and quirky yet minimal because I believe, the absolute excellence of style is nothing but simplicity. I adore the vintage style because when it comes to fashion everything old is new again. I love experimenting different styles and silhouettes and I always try finding statement pieces which help me stand out and not blend in.

India being culturally rich has a dominant sense of creativity nurtured deeply by its value. Today, I witness a change wherein several countries in the world are beginning to take inspiration from Indian values. The latest catalogue for Cavalli suits for men has several inspirations for suits stylized like the Indian Jodhpuri or the “bandh gala”.  This new trend of fusion of cultures and interactions is what fascinates me. It has given a new palette of colors to the canvas of fashion. Hence, I’m really looking forward to being a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista as it’ll help me understand these derived aesthetics. I also hope to bring you different trends every week along with useful style tips. I hope you enjoy reading my posts and find them inspiring.
