STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Perfect in Pastel

Style Advice of the Week

As I have said in my bio post, Pastels are my favorite! Soft hues and feminine fabrics like lace are the perfect combination of sweet and pure. Summer is here and colors like these are welcoming the warm weather back. This Fashionista pairs a cute light green top with triangle cut out on the back with some black skinny jeans. With a simple outfit, she did good with accessories and detail. The gray beanie she is sporting on her head brings out the fun in this outfit without looking like a guy. Another small detail to her outfit is the triangle cut out on the back of the shirt. I love how brands like Free People and H&M have put detail on the back of tops! It always adds an element of surprise to your wardrobe. Her saddle style shoe make this outfit have an edge that wasn’t expected and totally rocks. The combination of colors brings more to the table and adds the perfect extra to her outfit.  Whether dressing up or down, neutral colors and subtle details are perfect for adding a little something to your outfit.

Pastels have switched over from being an innocent color usually worn to religious celebrations to a bold color that can be very bad ass. Dressed up for a night on the town in pastel is a trend we are seeing more and more. The earthy tones and vibes that pastels remind us of is being noticed by brands like Urban Outfitters, Lucky and even Betsey Johnson. Pairing a soft, drapable fabric in a matte shade with leathers and studs gives off that edgy style without looking like you want to beat someone up. Floral designs and feminine features are the perfect platform to show off your girly side when keeping up with your busy lifestyle. Looking back at the wonderful fashions that inspire us today, you begin to notice the small details that make each garment stand out without being overboard. Being natural and looking refined in your clothing makes any women feel confidant and sexy. These ultra feminine looks will give you both.

Pastels have transformed from the soft and delicate, to a color worn in confidence. Basics are items that can be worn everyday, hues like pastel are the equivalent for color. Simple to wear everyday by adding embellishment to make your outfit pop. Pair these saturated tones with knits, leathers and denim to get a variety of looks all year around. Dressed up or down you will look great and stand out. Sugar coat your look and get everyone to notice how much of a Fashionista you really are!
