My name is Matthew Taylor and I am coming to you from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I am a senior at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh studying fashion merchandising and management. I am a native of the Pittsburgh area where I live with my wife and three pets.
My love for fashion starts with me using it as an expression of who I am. I am of Irish descent and I’m sure by looking at me that doesn’t come as a surprise. Kilts, kilts and more kilts are my featured wardrobe choice along with my trusty Dr. Martens. I have ten kilts in my wardrobe and I am always on the lookout for my next one. Right off the bat you know that I have a unique style; which is why people are always asking to take pictures of me or me get in a picture with them. On my wedding day I was married in a kilt and red Dr. Martens.
I have immersed myself in the fashion world of Pittsburgh by blogging and styling. I attend events for my blog where I showcase styles that grab my attention. Fashion styling has become my latest passion. I have been getting very involved in styling the last few months. Taking a group of models and having free reign to style them in a store as I please is the most fun for me(and my models). I did Pin-up styling over the summer for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix and several styling events for boutiques around the city. I am anxious to be a Style Guru because I want to show off the stylish ladies I go to school with and prove that Pittsburgh has more to offer than black and gold! Being a student of fashion at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh has allowed me to meet many fashionable young ladies. It has given me the opportunity to create strong relationships with fashion forward event planners and make peers in the media surrounding the fashions I love the most.
