Even though our spring break is only two weeks away, it seems like the cold weather does not want to back off. This simply means that we Fashionistos have to continue wearing layers, yet I’m beyond ready to shed the layers and start wearing shorts again. Unfortunately, I’m not in control of the weather. I saw this Fashionisto when I stopped at our on-campus Starbucks for a coffee. He looked clean-cut and spiffy, so I had to pull him outside and snap some pictures.
If you’re still stuck in the cold, take some layering tips from this Fashionisto. Sweaters retain an immense amount of body heat, since they are usually made of wool and fit tight to the body. A button-down shirt, worn underneath the sweater, brought suaveness to this Fashionisto’s ensemble. A plaid button-down shirt is a classic element that has sophistication written all over it–a great base for layers. Nothing looks more mature than a student who dresses professionally in a casual environment.
As for the pants, this Fashionisto’s greyish-blue pair of chinos brought softness to his look. The chinos, with the neutral heaviness of his sweater, helped carry out the blue and white in his button-down shirt. A peacoat is a must-have piece for every Fashionisto’s closet; whether it is black or blue, a peacoat is the go-to outerwear for anyone who dresses with class.
Hint: This Fashionisto wasn’t afraid to look dapper amongst all of the sweatpants and hoodies. Throw on a plaid button-down shirt to start off your outfit. Follow up with a nice sweater, preferably one that has a neutral color palette. The neutrality makes whatever colors you decide to play with pop in your outfit. A pair of chinos is a wise choice for pants. They resemble dress slacks and are a lot more comfortable than a pair of jeans. As I said before, peacoats are a must-have winter coat for every Fashionisto’s wardrobe.
