Just like the Printed Pleasure editorial feature, this week’s Fashionista is combining these bright skinnies with a fun, flowy patterned top and tying it all together with wicked shoes. Her jeans and blouse are from buka, a contemporary women’s clothing boutique near Misericordia University, and the shoes are Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spike boots. These boots are not something you see every day around Northeast Pennsylvania, so they stood out the most to me.
Bright, fitted jeans like this were featured in the Calvin Klein Jeans spring 2012 ads. The models are found seductively sprawled out upon rocks near the ocean, with the water splashing against them and their super colorful jeans. Now, you may not be lying around on rocks with hot guys all day, but these pants will add a perky pop of bright color to any outfit this summer.
The other trend, spikes, is also very popular this season. They may have been around for a few years, but they are really beginning to shine. Some of my favorites are by Ruthie Davis, who supplied the shoes at fashion week for Dennis Basso.
The boots that this Fashionista is wearing tie the whole look together for an outfit that can break necks, but hopefully not ankles. The heels are a towering 5.5 inches with a two inch platform and have shiny spikes and studs that give any pretty look a fun, punk twist.
For an almost identical look, try a pair of Spray on Skinnies from Nasty Gal: these bright jeans are fitted and best of all, super affordable. I found an almost identical top on Bluefly — the Wyatt black animal print chiffon oversized blouse. This top is flirty and flowy and goes great with a solid bright color. Last, but definitely not least, check out these similar, cute Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spike boots from solestruck. They’re a nice suede material, tall and spikey: what’s not to love?
