As we are almost a month into classes, even more Fashionistas have been spotted around Virginia Tech. I noticed this Fashionista on her way to class and she caught my eye as she rocked a light, classy look around campus. I was especially drawn to her pointed gold flats and gold watch which complimented the entire outfit perfectly.
Name: Emily Bickel
Major: Interior Design
CollegeFashionista: So, tell me about what you are wearing.
Emily Bickel: My outfit here was just something I threw together this afternoon for class. I started with the white pants — my summer staple. Though they're technically frowned upon, seeing as it is after Labor Day, I couldn't help but slip them on one last time before the weather cools down. My shirt is from Forever 21 and adds a pop of color to my otherwise neutral outfit. I chose my gold Nine West flats and medallion earrings to wear with my gold and ivory watch, a bargain from JCPenney and another wardrobe necessity. And finally, my Longchamp bag holds everything I need for my busy days.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
EB: My everyday personal style is simple, usually neutral and always comfortable.
CF: Who is a style icon who you admire?
EB: My ideal wardrobe would be that of Kate Middleton. I love how she can turn something simple and classy into the next big trend.
CF: What is your favorite fall trend?
EB: Fall colors are my favorite to wear and I can't wait to start mixing textures and rich hues. One of this season's hot colors is “oxblood” — otherwise known around our campus as Hokie maroon. I found a pair of Roxy ankle jeans in the color and already know they're going to be a fall staple this season.
How To: This outfit is practical with a classy and polished edge. To achieve this Fashionista’s look, you can put a pair of white pants from stores such as J.Crew and pair it with any peasant blouse. Gold accents are also what completes her look so try using gold accessories whether it’s shoes, bracelets or even earrings to accent your outfit.
