It doesn’t matter if you’re wrapping up your first or your last semester as a college student, school spirit is something that will stay with you forever. Here at UNCW we dedicate our Tuesday’s to wearing teal. “Teal Tuesday’s” for some consist of throwing on a UNCW T-shirt and putting your hair up in a messy bun. Today’s Fashionista, however, wears her teal proudly while staying professional and put together.
The sheer shirt is simple and classic, but the teal color gives it a fresh twist. Following the trend if incorporating blues into your wardrobe this Fall, Today’s Fashionista showed off her school spirit in style. Choosing to wear a tank top underneath of the shirt allows the top to remain professional and class appropriate. You can also take this outfit outside of the classroom by wearing it to a tailgate or other school event. Just think of how cute you’ll look in something other than a screen-printed T-shirt from the bookstore while you support your school!
Take this look from day to night and swap out your denim for a pair of black skinny jeans, or be bold and try a pair of leather leggings from TopShop. The sheer texture of the shirt and the metallic leather will create the perfect contrast. Change out of your leather daytime boots for a pair of Jeffery Campbell Lita’s, or if you stray away from heels try a pair of black combat boots.
School spirit doesn’t necessarily mean monotony. When you’re shopping be sure to keep your schools colors and activities in mind. Keep your eyes open in thrift stores for unique pieces and remember that it’s never too early to start shopping for the perfect pair of heels to wear with your cap and gown.
