How I Maintain My Combination Skin

If you have combination skin like I do, then you know the struggle of having an oily T-zone and maybe some patchy dry skin in other areas. It is a constant battle for me to keep my skin clean, clear, and radiant. I have tried all sorts of products over the years, but have narrowed it down to a few skincare essentials you might want to try.

Every night, I start my skincare routine by removing my makeup. For removing makeup, I apply the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water ($8) to a cotton round or two and clean my whole face. I love how it is a quick way to remove your makeup. This product is nice to use for a quick cleanse in the morning or evening since you do not need to rinse it off. Sometimes, I only use this product and skip the rest.

On days when I am not tired or in a hurry, I will use my Foreo Luna Mini 2 in Pearl Pink ($139) with the Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel ($28). I love the Luna Mini 2 because it is small enough to travel with, the charge lasts forever (you can go months without charging!), and the silicone bristles not only are more sanitary than other cleansing tools, but they also help to really clean your pores and exfoliate. It is a great cleansing face brush for all skin types! If you want something more catered to your skin, they even have brushes for specific skin types like the Luna 2 Combination Skin ($199). I chose a gel cleanser because those work best for combination skin and work to really remove the surface oil and acne-prone bacteria. This cleanser from Bosnia has become my go-to.

As much as I try, I still get the occasional blemish here and there. Recently, I decided to try out a new product since the drugstore brands just did not seem to work for me anymore. I have been using the Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment ($26). It works wonders by drying out pimples, getting them to shrink, and reducing redness. I recommend using it when you first start to notice you are getting a pimple to stop it in its tracks! This product is best to use at night since it leaves pink marks and should be applied with a cotton swab.

Finally, once a week I try to use a mask when I find the time. My current go-to mask is the GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment ($22-$69). I typically just apply it to my T-zone area with a synthetic flat foundation brush and leave it on for 20 minutes. It leaves my skin looking radiant and feeling clean and smooth.
