FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Sydney Champagne

Fashionista Spotlight

We’ve had a few chilly days here in the South, but it hasn’t really gotten cold yet. Every year, like clockwork, Southern Fashionistas face the great debate: how to wear this season’s trends without absolutely melting when stepping outside.

I spotted this Fashionista out running errands, and her layers are a perfect option for those of us who are not going to be seeing a white Christmas this year. Brown leather boots are a staple of many closets, and she’s kept the outfit very neutral by adding a dark chocolate bomber jacket. Her thin-knit scarf is the perfect shade of mint to add a pop-of-color to this outfit.

Name: Sydney Champagne

Major: Magazine journalism

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Who or what is your style inspiration?

Sydney Champagne: The Olsen twins! They blend trendy with unique sophistication flawlessly.

CF: What is your favorite fashion magazine?

SC: I'm a pretty big fan of Glamour. The pages are filled with tangible style and creativity, which I love.

CF: What is your ‘style mantra’?

SC: Eclectic. I like to mix textures and styles.

CF: Has being in college helped you in developing your own personal style?

SC: Definitely. I see so many girls fall into the spell of wearing strictly what's trendy. That's helped me to develop my own style of mixing trendy with quirky and vintage.

CF: What are you most excited to wear this holiday season?

SC: Leather and sequins!

To Do: Sydney’s look is all about putting layers together to make one succinct look. Roll the sleeves on a leather jacket to display your watch and bracelets. Add a soft scarf that doesn’t weigh you down, and you’ll be comfortable all day.
