Hello fellow fashion enthusiasts! My name is Lindsay Sperin and I am a second semester sophomore at the best university there is, the University of Delaware. I am a Marketing major with a minor in Journalism and I have an undying love for everything fashion. I am thrilled to be joining the CollegeFashionista team as a Style Guru!
I am also so excited to write for a column that is not only new to CollegeFashionista but a column that will also be of great help to all you Fashionistas and Fashionistos reading. Have you ever had somewhere to go but no clue as to what to wear? Well, with CollegeFashionista’s help from the WHAT TO WEAR column, you will never have to worry about not being able to find the perfect outfit again.
As for my personal style, I would summarize it in three words: eclectic, versatile and forward. As much as I love to mimic the looks of my favorite celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Blake Lively, I also love to look at the people around me and get ideas from them. At the end of the day though, I always like to make each outfit my own by tying something that makes me stand out in a crowd.
Recently, I have been a huge fan of wearing bold sweaters, skinny jeans and Dr. Martens (aka the best shoes in the world). I also love the look of high socks and boots to really tie an outfit together. It’s also super important, no matter what you’re wearing or where you’re going, to have the one piece in your attire that makes your audience say “wow.”
What you wear leaves an impression on people. Your outfit is the first thing that someone sees when they meet you — before they even learn your name. It is important to keep in mind that even though certain things are supposed to be worn for certain events, whatever you wear must represent who you are inside. As a Style Guru, I hope to help inspire my fellow fashion-frenzied readers to pick out super trendy outfits for all occasions!
