The cargo pant is back, but with a twist! Fashion designers are constantly being inspired by military uniforms and the cargo pant is no exception. This season, cargo is taking the fashion industry by storm in the form of a skinny pant. The skinny cargo jeans made their way on the scene at the beginning of spring and are now going full throttle into fall. First, there were leggings, then there were skinny jeans, then came the military/cargo trend, then the jegging and now the skinny cargo jean which is basically a marriage of all of those trends. Sometimes people can get caught up in wearing prints, mixing and matching or wearing loud colors, so shifting your focus to basic pieces and neutral colors is refreshing. Cargo pants can be a little tricky to wear because you can either look too guyish, or they can look extremely unflattering. But, this style can easily be dressed up or down and makes for more of a multi-purpose style. Fitted cargo pants can take you from day to even with stylish ease. Wear them as a khaki pants substitute with a flowy tunic top and flats for school, and then pair it with a draped top and statement heels for a night out with the girls. Cargo pants are great in all colors, but the fall trend seems to be military inspired, brining the olive color front and center. While J Brand’s green Houihans were the rage amongst celebrities, other designers such as Current/Elliot and Zara offer great, more budget friendly options. The skinny cargo brings utility and feminity together all in one sleek package—it's time to find out for yourself!
