This week’s Fashionista displays a cozy casual style, fit for the chilly, desert weather. To further emphasis we can jump right into the color patterns. Our Fashionista this week chose a dark neutral pattern of gray and black. This neutral pattern helps endorse the pop of green around her neck. As a matter of fact this entire outfit works around the green; I feel it is safe to say the green scarf is ultimately what made this simple everyday attire stand out in the crowd.
As a Fashionista, one needs to understand how to blend well and play with colors. For instance, a pop of green might not have been as strong if it were merely a headband. Or perhaps having been her shirt or jeans; every option sends a different message and gives a different unique effect. If we are careful and envision the green scarf gone and instead a green shirt in its place we can begin to form an opinion. In my opinion a green shirt underneath her black light sweater would be a lot less effective; accessorizing is essential often in order to make a fashion statement.
Our Fashionista finished off her look with a brown belt and brown combat boots. This adds on and compliments the green up above her shoulders. The black sunglasses gives the right cherry on top final finish; which plays off with the dark neutral theme.
So remember Fashionistas: accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Throw on a scarf, an arrangement of rings, a belt, etc. Never overload yourself with bracelets, necklaces, rings, it’s all about balance and blending. On a last note, keep in mind it is always easier to start with your statement article and build your outfit up from there.
