The sweater is back! Last year the oversized knit sweater made a major comeback in street fashion. They resurfaced in a great variety of patterns, prints and even solid colors that easily top off any fall and winter wardrobe. Before last season, the heavy sweater was obsolete on college campuses. Because of the recent surplus of fitted styles in the fashion scene, oversized knits for males on campus have been avoided. Also, since the vintage revival a lot of the fashion-conscious student’s here at ISU have turned to Goodwill hunting in order to find that sweater that not only keeps them warm, but reflects some aspect of their personal style. Now because of this recent comeback, menswear on campus is both functional and fashionable. Along with knitwear the color burgundy is also creeping back into recent fashion and is almost unavoidable in styles in stores this year.
This Fashionisto is clearly on top of his game. He’s the first person that's brought the sweater back for this season and I’m sure he won’t be the last. His brightly colored tribal-inspired sweater, similar to this patterned jumper, adds a great pop to his overall look. He pairs the sweater with baggy pants like these LRG jeans, but if that's not your style try these tapered baggy jeans for a more slim-fitting style. This Fashionisto tops off his outfit with a simple cap, allowing the burgundy color in his sweater to pop. Adopt this swagger-saturated Fashionisto’s look and add knit to get that funky fall wardrobe!
Hint: If you really have a thing for oversized sweaters try this chunky, black knit cardigan for added fabric and style points.
