From Weezer and Sponge Bob Square Pants, everyone loves a good sweater. With the weather getting colder every week, Fashionistos around the district have been cavorting in their cashmere V necks and parading around in their Patagonia zip-ups. However, sporting a sweater, no matter the material, is not an excuse to wear a tracksuit or look like you are headed to the gym. Time to work your wardrobe and show some sweater swag!
I spotted upon this dapper dude walking by the GW metro stop on his way to class. His light colored ensemble was a breathe of fresh air amongst the sea of business suits and standard dark winter wardrobes. He keeps his outfit trendy yet traditional in a J. Crew pastel pink striped oxford shirt. A major fall staple for the New England prep, this button down shirt serves as a great day-to-night basic while the hue acts a chic color pop. Pastel colored merchandise is a must have for this fashion season, and the pink shade shows off this chic chap’s personal style. His grey faded J. Crew jeans continue to emphasize his outfit’s light yet fall appropriate color palette and function as a functional alternative to standard blue jeans. He tops of his outstanding outfit with his favorite crème Vineyard Vines half-zip sweater. While this collared shirt and sweater pairing has always been a staple collegiate outfit, this Fashionisto takes the look to the next level by his smart use of color integration. The contrast of the oatmeal and pastel pink highlights each hue in a way that is noticeably stylish but subtle enough to prevent the mix from clashing or appearing too obnoxious. The versatile half zip style of the sweater also lets this dapper dude show off his pink collar detailing in a tasteful manner. Cuffing his oxford's sleeve over his sweater also shows off the color contrast. He finishes of the ensemble with his Citizen watch and some sweet Nike kicks.
