There's something about pastel colours that makes me reminiscent of the fresh days of spring and summer that have just passed us. Mint, arguably the most sought after pastel in the spring/summer season this year, however, is continuing to make an appearance this fall and McGill’s students cannot get enough of it! It's a tricky colour to bring into fall because you don’t want it to look like you’ve just stepped off the beach, so here are some tips to avoid that.
American Apparel carries tons of mint in shirts, pants and accessories, all in very simple cuts and shapes. For example, mint jeans like these. Pairing the coloured pants with a neutral jacket, like this Fashionisto did with his leather jacket, is a good idea to simplfy the look. If you’re not feeling that adventurous, a mint hoodie or sweater is just as exciting like this ASOS graphic sweater. Again, pair your mint top with a neutral bottom like dark denim or chinos. If you’re really nervous with the colour and don’t know how to go about it, you could always add mint in the details like this Fashionistos elbow pads or by having a pop of colour with a mint collar showing through under a knit like this Oxford short-sleeved top.
This Fashionisto wears mint green well in fall with his coloured jeans. Paired with a leather jacket and accessorized with a wool scarf, he tranisitions this mint piece from his summer wardrobe into a part of his new fall wardrobe and it's perfect! He's also wearing a touch of mint with his matching elbow pads on his grey knit sweater, which goes to show he cannot get enough of this colour, so you should get it too!
