Fall and winter are undoubtedly my most favorite seasons to dress for, yet they can also be the most frustrating constraints when it comes to showing unique, personal style. As coats are obviously a necessity during this time of the year in New York, it takes some pretty great outerwear and accessories to be able to emit a unique and fashionable vibe.
Although black, it is the cut of this Fashionisto's coat that makes it a truly awesome piece. With both an asymmetrical zipper and hemline, the lines that are created are unlike any other I have ever seen on a coat, only to be outdone by the dramatically oversized turtleneck. Layered over a fitted gray turtleneck sweater, the coat looks incredibly runway chic and could make this Fashionisto stand out even without his leather accessories.
I have been lusting over a pair of patent leather maroon shoes for some time now, as the color is becoming integrated into my wardrobe more and more with each shopping spree I complete. Exemplified here, maroon goes well with any other neutral and is a great way to infuse a subtle flare of color. By deviating from the normal black shoe, this Fashionisto was also able to tie in his buttery camel bag because of the warmer hues found in both items.
Perhaps it is due to my love for colored ombré, or my envy of girls with giant mermaid waves, but I have always found hair to be the best accessory in the world. A daring hairdo immediately gives any Fashionista or Fashionisto street-cred, and is a permanent way for an individual to show how risky they are willing to be with their style. Naturally, I LOVED this Fashionisto's silvery/grey swooped 'do. Screaming attitude, his hair had a high fashion edge that brought the term 'silver fox' to a whole new level.
Hint: Like this Fashionisto did, try straying away from the typical leather briefcase and go for a bag with a more unique shape to carry daily necessities in. Staying with a neutral color will allow the bag to be paired with any other hues and thus any outfit. Try scoping one out with a small pattern or hints of hardware for a subtle stylish kick.
