When you go to a school that is as fashionably fearless as NYU, it can often be hard to stand out. Students aren't afraid to rock bold colors, statement textures and loud prints, and can often be seen wearing all three at once…and doing so perfectly. This Fashionisto, however, was impossible to miss.
When I saw all four sets of eyes on this sartorial veteran from across the street, I knew I had found my guy. Not only did he bring tiger print to a whole new level, but took it one step further and paired his orange-hued shirt with rich blue pants. Seeing as they are complimentary colors on the color wheel, his choice of outfit colors was nothing short of gutsy and completely fashion forward. By tucking in his shirt and splitting up the outfit with a plain black belt, his ensemble looked put together and chic rather than thrown together and mismatched. It's all about the details.
Because his shirt and pants spoke loudly enough for his style, this Fashionisto's choice of all black accessories was spot-on. From his cap-toe oxfords with a perforated hole pattern to his geometric sunnies, his add-ons still had an edge, simply one that was less pronounced.
Hint: Try going for a statement-making outfit like this Fashionisto's by braving up and choosing two colors to pair together that you might naturally find a little daunting. To tone down the outfit and make it a bit more cohesive, do as the pro's do (in this case an NYU undergrad!) and add more professional accessories in one neutral tone to keep consistency throughout the look.
