“The sneakers trend is definitely a thing,” I told myself when I spotted this Fashionisto. For some reason “gym attire” didn’t even cross my mind until he brought it up, and suddenly I was even more intrigued by this bright blue outfit. If anyone will be ready before, during and after their workout, it’s this guy.
This look starts off with a bang with this Fashionisto rocking an Audrey Hepburn zombie print graphic T-shirt. This piece is key to this look because, especially in men’s fashion, graphic T-shirts are staple pieces. From a workout T-shirt to a sophisticated top under a blazer, they always look good. I really like this Supremebeing shirt from ASOS. Not only is there a surprisingly detailed gorilla on it but the color is easy to work with, and like this Fashionisto’s, it will go with practically anything. He completes the base of his look with a pair of easy, breezy, blue palm tree shorts. These are great because, like I always say, I think it’s cool not to take yourself too seriously in fashion. Take this inspiration and instead of pin stripes or solid, go for what entertains you most. These are a great example from Topman; they are peacock printed and set the stage for some purple, blue and green accessories as well.
Speaking of accessories, my next favorite piece is this Fashionisto’s muted blue, polka-dot cap. I’ve been seeing the statement cap a lot on campus lately and I totally understand why it’s growing more popular. With fun graphics and logos becoming more prominent, a great cap can elevate any Fashionisto’s look. I couldn’t bring myself to suggest any other hat; this Where’s Waldo cap from Urban Outfitters is the definition of entertainment and fashion. Finally, this turquoise and Aztec print backpack is definitely a keeper. As much as I love the regular backpack, adding colors and prints make a classic piece more interesting.
Take inspiration from this Fashionisto to make your trips to the gym a little more interesting. Whether it’s shorts, sneakers, a graphic tee or a hat, a little print and color never hurt nobody.
How To: Swap the colorful shorts for black jeans and a bright jacket paired with some cool boots or loafers for a look that’s just as fun and is an easy after-gym-with-friends transition.
