Let's Hear it for the Boys

Although pastels are mostly popular during the spring and summer, they have been spotted during the fall and winter seasons as well. There’s nothing like soft colors that make a subtle pop against the white snow. During the winter, many people opt for dark colors such as navy blues, blacks, browns and grays. As flattering as dark and neutral colors can be, there’s nothing wrong with adding a little color to your winter ensemble. Soft pastels can make you stand out on the way to class without breaking out the bright neon colors.

People often associate pastels with femininity, but this isn’t the case at all. Menswear can be found in an array of pastels, such as mint green, baby blue and light pink. This Fashionisto contrasts a bright salmon pullover with a soft yellow polo T-shirt from Ralph Lauren underneath. He is also wearing light khakis to complement the pastels. To add some darker tones to a lighter outfit, this Fashionisto is also wearing black loafers and accessorizes with a black watch.

Hint: If you’re looking to add some color to your outfit without being overbearing, try a mint green seersucker blazer with light wash khaki pants. This is a great look if you feel like really dressing up for class or a presentation. To give the ensemble a more laid back look, wear a pair of tan boat shoes. If a blazer seems too dressy, try a baby blue button-up shirt. After all, every Fashionisto looks great in a button-up!
