The concrete jungle that is! This Fashionisto rocked the sidewalk runway in a ’90s-inspired look. Being that most of us are products of this wonderful decade, this outfit looks extra familiar. I know that I wore the same outfit as a kid (minus the Guns N’ Roses T-shirt). Whether it is ’90s movies, fashion or music, it always brings us back to a simpler time when we were only concerned with playing with our Beanie Babies and watching The Rugrats. Now that we have grown up and have new priorities, it is refreshing to see a fab ensemble that is all that and a bag of chips.
This Fashionisto began his look with a Guns N’ Roses graphic T-shirt. Classic band T-shirts are always effortlessly cool, and add edge to an otherwise simple outfit. He covers up with a red button-down flannel shirt. This shirt is super versatile and works as both a layering piece as well as the shirt itself. He pairs it with a pair of cut-off shorts. These are perfect for summer and can be easily made from your favorite pair of jeans. When making your own pair of cut-offs, really pay attention to length. Don’t just hack away at your jeans, but really take the time to measure where you want them to hit on your leg. He then wears a pair of baby blue Keds tennis shoes. These are also a great summer staple and can be dressed up or down very easily. He tops off his look with a vintage flat brim hat.
Hint: When wearing clothing from a specific time period, make sure that the look doesn’t overwhelm you. Going too crazy with your favorite decade can really date you, and not make you look modern. This Fashionisto does everything right by showing a ’90s-inspired look without going over the top.
