Classes have begun and it is time to get back into the swing of things here at Wake Forest University. I love the first week of classes because everyone is out to showcase their new threads while simultaneously using the campus as a runway! With that being said it wasn’t hard for me to spot a well-dressed young man headed to classes this week, and my oh my did his personal style give off the opposite of the “blues.”
I’d like to think that the urban look will never really go out of style and will forever be a top trend in many cities because it can be re-vamped so quickly and has stayed around for literally decades (of course with its own twist for every year)! Whether it was the bright colors of the ’80s or the statement bomber jackets of the new millennium, urban style is here to stay. With fashion designers such as Marc Bouwer incorporating the urban theme into their lines this is definitely what I would call a timeless trend.
This week’s Fashionisto has taken the urban trend and made it his own. Pairing a soft indigo blue Levi’s T-shirt with a pair of dark-washed Levi’s Jeans it creates a subtle feel to his ensemble. Adding his one-of-a-kind varsity bomber jacket and a pair of Jordans that match his jacket perfectly, this Fashionisto is not only comfortable, but ready for classes.
This look can be imitated and done in your own way, a simple t-shirt and jeans can be taken to the next level by adding a statement jacket just as this Fashionisto did this week. Remember, when you feel your outfit is slacking, add a one-of-a-kind jacket!
