Ask anyone who knows me, and they will tell you that I love neutral or earth tone colors. Brown, black and deep shades of blue and green dominate my closet. So it’s no wonder this Fashionisto caught my eye! He is embracing a trend for men’s winter fashion very recently made popular at Paris Fashion Week. He is covered almost from head to toe in camel.
Lighter than winter browns but darker than summery tans, camel is the perfect color for this time of year. This Fashionisto is sizing down from a large winter coat to a slim-fitting camel parka. Although the jacket is slim fitting, its thick lining, visible at the ends of the sleeves, will keep him warm until spring comes. In addition to keeping him toasty, the bright yellow lining stands out against the rest of the outfit and makes us pine for the warm spring sunshine!
The yellow is not the only thing that pops in his outfit. His patterned scarf from Urban Outfitters brings another personal touch to his look. The scarf incorporates blues, greens and, of course, camel in a diamond and stripe pattern. He finishes off the look with one lost touch of camel. His boots from DSW are simple and exhibit another trend for this season: subtle, raised stitching that runs across the top of the toes.
As this Fashionisto has discovered, guys can pull off a casual and urban outfit with very few pieces or colors. In his case, he chose the camel trend and used it to create a sharp, season-appropriate look.
Hint: If you like this Fashionisto’s jacket, check out a very similar parka with corduroy lining. A jacket with this kind of lining can be worn both in the beginning of spring but also in the fall. Not only are earth tones trendy, they are versatile!
