LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Thrifting For Sport

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Most of us live on pretty tight collegiate budgets that have little to no money for the incessant shopping our closets crave. I’ve come to terms with this depressing reality and have found some awesome thrift stores around my campus to fulfill my shopping needs without emptying my wallet. Thrift stores are one the best places to find unique, one of a kind pieces that are dirt cheap (just make sure you wash them before wearing).

As a Green Bay Packers fan myself, I loved this Fashionisto’s unique take on the common sports sweatshirt and had to investigate about where he found it. The 100 percent wool crewneck was only $20 at a local thrift shop close to campus! The woven wool material and the old school logo give the sweater a vintage look, making it more stylish than a regular cotton sweatshirt. The cheap price and rareness of the sweater also make it a great steal.

With his sweater as the center piece of his outfit, this Fashionisto wears a pair of khakis. The lighter color of the khakis works as a good contrast to the darker, emerald green of the sweater. Lastly, the Fashionisto ends his outfit with a pair of worn in canvas, maroon Vans to be comfortable and stylish.

Thrift stores are you and your wallet’s best friend when it comes to unique clothes for awesome prices!

Hint: If you can’t find a local thrift store, eBay and Etsy are also great places to find one a kind, secondhand clothes.
