The cooler weather is bringing out all sorts of menswear that I’ve been dying to write about. It’s safe to say that I’m not going to miss seeing tank tops and gym shorts for a while. I was crazy about this Fashionisto’s ensemble from the minute I spotted him because he was working with a little bit of everything that I adore about fashion: a strong color scheme, confidence and a quirky sense of personal style.
As someone who is obsessed with dark, rich colors, I was immediately drawn to this Fashionisto’s color scheme of navy blue, forest green and dark tan. He paired a plaid button-up with some flattering dark wash denim and a gorgeous pair of dark tan shoes. He tucked his button-up into his jeans and added a matching dark tan leather belt to create a polished look.
His quirky style stood out on campus because of his amazing ability to incorporate accessories into his look. His navy blue bow-tie and pair of geek-chic reading glasses told me a story before I even approached him. While we were walking, he told me about the sense of pride that his fraternity takes in their appearance. People even call them the “Pretty Boys” because of their impeccable taste and style. Being confident is half the battle when it comes to feeling good in whatever you’re wearing and this Fashionisto has no shortage of it.
Hint: When the temperatures drop even lower, try adding a olive green jacket to your ensemble. Outerwear is a great layering tool and keeps you warm during the colder months. Find some vintage patches or band buttons for your jacket to add an extra flare of individuality.
