As soon as it was announced that 50 Shades of Grey was going to be made into a movie, fans of the salacious series were making predictions on which Hollywood heartthrob would win the coveted role of Christian Grey. It seemed like everyone and their mother (literally in most cases) had an opinion over who should be chosen for the role. Securing the right actor for the role has had more drama than a reunion episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But now that Charlie Hunnam is out and Jamie Dornan is in, it seems like fans will have to wait until 2015 to see the factitious character brought to real life on the big screen.
So in order to give all you 50 Shades fanatics something to live for in the interim, I introduce you to CollegeFashionista’s version of Christian Grey. Sure he may not be wearing a necktie, but this Fashionisto surely sports his fair share of gray in a fashionable manner. Be sure to check out my latest eBay Collection inspired by this dapper Fashionisto. His charcoal gray varsity jacket is the perfect option for late fall weather. The jacket is thick enough without being cumbersome. Plus, the silhouette allows this Fashionisto the opportunity to layer pieces underneath it. The charcoal gray is a great alternative to black as it is still neutral while adding some interest to an everyday outfit.
I love how this Fashionisto also tied in the color gray with his accessories. Beanies are a huge trend for fall for both Fashionistas and Fashionistos. His light gray beanie contrasts nicely against the darker shade of his jacket. An extra bonus—a beanie is a chic way to protect yourself from harsh winds and the inevitable snow fall.
This Fashionisto exposed in a third shade of gray by rolling up his pant leg to reveal his socks. The dim gray of his socks are an unexpected and appreciated surprise. By styling his pants as he did, this Fashionisto took a fashion risk that certainly paid off. His choice to wear a colored sock is a minor detail that really unifies the whole look.
So instead of powering through Ffity Shades of Grey for the eighth time, look to this Fashionisto for some inspiration to bring some Christian Grey into your own wardrobe.
Hint: When wearing three (or fifty) different shades of gray, be sure that they are different enough to achieve a purposeful and put-together look.
