I recently spent a long weekend relaxing with friends and family; however, stressing over what to wear in order to be comfortable in this unpredictable weather. Although fall is approaching quickly, summer weather is still in full swing; therefore, the temperature is always up in the air. In these kinds of in-between seasons, it can be hard to decipher what to wear and how to stay comfortable while still looking good. Have no fear, however, because luckily I am here to put to rest any seasonal anxieties that you may have when it comes to picking out the perfectly comfortable weekend wear.
Fortunately, despite many of my colleagues traveling back home for the weekend, I was able to find a fabulous Fashionisto to demonstrate what I like to call the “easy ensemble.” I call it this because although it is both casual and comfortable, it still hits every note in regards to visual interest.
When I think of ways to stay comfortable in unpredictable heat, I first think of fabric choice. This Fashionisto is doing is all the right things by pairing a lightweight shirt with a heavier, yet not too heavy, cargo short. By having the thicker fabric on the bottom, he is giving his outfit structure while still keeping cool in his thin knit T-shirt. Once you have established comfortable fabric choices, it’s time to nail down the details and make sure that your outfit has enough visual interest. Our Fashionisto in this scenario chose to mix it up with stripes and added a masculine silver necklace to top off his look. His black-framed glasses also add a hint of sophistication to his overall comfortable outfit.
Hint: If you’re not sure what to wear due to in-between-season temperature, go for layers! By wearing a lightweight knit shirt (as shown above), you can keep cool in the heat and have to option of adding a sweatshirt or cardigan if ever a brisk wind comes along.
