LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Sweater Weather, But Still Put Together

Let's Hear it for the Boys

When being in classrooms all day, and especially with the heat cranking, the easiest thing to do is layer. Wearing a comfy sweater with a long sleeve T-shirt or even a button-down, can be a great way to be comfortable while still looking fabulous.

This Fashionisto paired a J.Crew cable knit sweater with a simple white Ralph Lauren polo, 7 For All Mankind jeans and Johnston and Murphy boots (similar here). You never know when you might have a meeting with a professor or a run in with a friend, so having a sharp sweater is important. Cardigans are a great option but a simple v-neck sweater or half zip can be just  as nice. The key is to find a sweater that can transform from class to anywhere.

Good jeans are a necessity for men not only to look good, but to be comfortable. Especially when sitting in class, you want to be comfortable, but still look presentable. GQ did a guide for men to help them find jeans that fit well and the front runners included Acne, Hudson Jeans and 7 For All Mankind, like our Fashionisto. I prefer dark wash on men because they are flattering and more masculine.

Boots and shoes in general for men is a very personal thing because you can tell a lot about a man from his shoes. Certain shoes send different signals, where a brown suede boot sends more of a put together message, rather then sneakers which give the idea of hitting the gym.

Hint: A down vest is a great investment! Whether you are layering in the fall, winter, or spring, it’s a transitional piece you can have for years.
