If I had to describe my perfect day, it would be one spent in New Orleans enjoying the beautiful weather while strolling in Audubon Park and snapping pictures or window shopping on Magazine Street. I would spend it with close friends or taking some time to relax by myself after a busy week. I’d stop by some of my favorite restaurants; Satsuma for a breakfast sandwich and a green juice, Jazmine Cafe for pho and maybe grab some frozen yogurt in between. Today was an ideal New Orleans winter day but unfortunately, being in the midst of midterms meant there was little time to relax. Instead, I had to settle for throwing on an airy tank top and Brandy Melville shorts and soaking up the sun on my way to the library.
On beautiful days like today, students are given an opportunity to peel away layers from their usual winter wardrobe and break out their spring attire. I chose to photograph this Fashionisto because his look was casual and fun; perfect for a relaxing spring day. He chose to make a statement with a short sleeve navy button-up topped with an abstract tan print. The pattern and style of his shirt give off a retro vibe made more modern by his off-white shorts and flip flops. This button-up is light and airy, perfect for a warm day and it stands out with its unique pattern. Paired with simple shorts and flip flops this outfit works for class or just spending time outside with friends. For accessories, he threw on an Army green backpack that fits perfectly with the military trend that has been carried over from winter to spring. Take hints from this Fashionisto on how to mix different trends while staying true to your own unique style.
Hint: A short sleeve button-up works for cooler days too. Simply slip on jeans instead of shorts, Converse sneakers to stick with a retro vibe and a cargo jacket if you want to continue the military trend.
