It’s finally warming up and I think we can officially say we made it through the polar vortex that was winter 2014. The only downside is that we’re currently stuck in that in-between weather where deciding what to wear in the morning is impossible. With low temps in the morning and blaring sun in the afternoon, the springtime transition can be rough. There are a few ways to prevent freezing and overheating in the same day.
This Fashionisto has the system down to a science. His leather jacket is perfect for the chilly mornings as it adds just the right amount of warm. The details of the jacket make it a great and fashionable choice. The front breast pockets and collar are attention-grabbing and different than most common leather jackets. For the warmer afternoon, this Fashionisto dons a light graphic T-shirt that can stand alone without the jacket.
Combined with these top pieces, this Fashionisto wears a pair of very subtly patterned dark and light gray chinos. The pattern is almost too subtle to see, but it adds a more dynamic look to them. The pants are a lighter material, perfect for the warmer weather, but wearing pants will keep him warm in the morning. His shoes are a pair of classic blue Converse sneakers. The shoes work well as a spring staple as they are comfortable for walking, but add a nice pop of color. The Fashionisto tops off his look with a plain black snapback hat and sunglasses for that springtime sun.
Hint: Another great way to ease into the springtime weather is to try a button-up and a cardigan combo: just lose the cardigan if it gets too warm later in the day and the button-up can stand on its own!
