It is finals week. The tension in the air is thick enough to bite into and plans of summer freedom seem so far away. The temperatures on campus are rising and the urge to emerge from the depths of the library computer labs is tempting, especially when most of us at of Macalester College have spent much of our time bundled up in our dorms (and homes) away from the elements.
Warmer weather not only brings with it many distractions, but also the opportunity to sport a new look—a new you. I ran into this Fashionisto on the way to class and could not help but notice how effortlessly he transitioned into summer weather style. The layered henley paired with the denim shorts allows this Fashionisto to safely venture into the warmer weather without risking being cold (Minnesota weather is that unpredictable). The strapped leather sandals are both practical and a feature of men’s (and women’s) spring 2014 trends.
With fashion leaning towards a more simplistic aesthetic, the clean look of this Fashionisto’s style is perfect for this fashion season (without, of course, trying too hard at all). The final touch to his outfit, the baseball cap, adds a final glimpse of this Fashionisto’s personal taste that finalizes this unique and wonderfully undemanding outfit.
Hint: To start getting his look, grab yourself a pair of Birkenstocks, a staple for this spring and summer (and a practical shoe in general). Keep it simple with this long sleeve tee from Topman paired with these denim shorts from ASOS (or take a pair of your winter jeans and cut them to whatever length you see fit). Lastly, bring it all together with a baseball cap like this one here from Opening Ceremony. What makes this outfit so on point is that the outfit remains simple without looking as if the Fashionisto is trying to make his outfit simple. It is all about effortlessness and personal style, so let your personal style shine through.
