With the weather in the 50s, everyone on the Macalester College campus is shedding layers, and swapping out pants for shorts and down jackets for windbreakers. The sun is finally out, and aside from the looming date of finals, there is little to complain about.
This Fashionisto plays the spring game right by sporting weather appropriate clothing in an effortless fashion. His jean cut-offs are incredibly original, looking custom made and edgy. He paired them with the on-trend bomber jacket that I’ve raved about in previous articles. His navy jacket is complemented with a cerulean blue polo that adds to the monochromatic-tone of this outfit (included are the blue jean cut-offs).
Monochromatic outfits are incredibly in style and many were seen at the Gucci men’s fall/winter 2014 show. This outfit is polished off with a pair of low-rise Converse Chucks that are a must-have in any season. This Fashionisto is more than ready for warmer weather and the rest of us should take note.
Hint: Getting this Fashionisto’s look is all about blending sporty pieces with everyday basics. To start, I would recommend heading to your local thrift store for a pair of worn jeans to create into a pair of unique cut-offs. Is thrifting not your thing? You can find a pair of already-cut cut-offs here at Urban Outfitters. Next, pair your cut-offs with a bomber jacket like this one at American Apparel. If you’re looking to keep things monochromatic, find a polo to wear underneath your coat (also from American Apparel). Lastly, finish off your outfit with a pair of Converse to achieve that vintage “sport cool” look (The pair linked are pre-washed to already look worn, perfect to wear with a pair of rugged cut-offs.).
So what are you waiting for? Ditch that puffy, down coat and head out in this spring’s must-have bomber jacket.
