Winter is officially showing signs of its long awaited departure, ladies and gentlemen, and that means spring fashion is just around the corner. Time to dig out those denim and leather jackets and warmer hues, and experiment with this year’s spring look. This week’s Fashionisto was spotted on campus sporting a vintage hand-me-down-inspired spring get-up.
I don’t know about you but a spring jacket, for me, is an essential piece of clothing in one’s wardrobe. It must be lightweight, versatile, effortlessly stylish and warm. This Fashionisto’s vintage spring jacket blends perfectly with his earthy-toned shoes and dark denim while the cream and burgundy lines of the coat make for an appealing palette. When shopping for your spring jacket, be aware of the dominant colours in your wardrobe and find something that is analogous with those colours. Whether it’s lightweight leather, bold denim or a statement piece, start the season off with a jacket that wows.
Hint: Hand-me-downs are not as faux pas as they once were. In fact, I wear my father’s clothes all the time! Going home for the weekend? Dig through your dad’s closet if you get the chance and take a look. What you thought was horribly tacky when you were 15 is probably something you’d love now and your dad probably hasn’t worn those jeans in years.
