Let's Hear it for the Boys

It’s finally spring break season. For all of you who go to schools in the Midwest, this is an especially wonderful time of year. Whether your planning to road trip it to Florida with a group of friends or kick it with the fam at a relaxing destination, it’s important to have weather appropriate outfits for the dramatic climate change. Kick off those winter boots and throw a pair of sandals in that suitcase, we’re going on spring break!

This Fashionisto is wearing a striped V-neck, flat-front shorts and Sperry Top-Sider shoes, accessorized with a pair of black sunglasses. Sperry Top-Siders are definitely the go-to shoe for beach weather. They’re great for sailing (obviously), taking long walks on the beach and even dressing up an outfit. Boat shoes bring in the classic prep-style shoe that are timeless and perfect for spring break outfits. This Fashionisto’s shorts are my favorite style for men. They’re at a perfect length, right above the knee, accentuating that severe tan line. Additionally, rather than having an absurd amount of pockets as seen on cargo shorts, these shorts only have two main pockets and are perfect for a casual, warm weather occasion. A good flat-front short is a great way to look a bit less casual while still staying comfortable. Finally, you can never go wrong with a stripped crew or V-neck shirt. It’s a simple pattern that goes with any solid color pair of shorts or pants.

This outfit is totally easy to throw together in a matter of minutes. The most important part of a spring break outfit is making sure it’s comfortable. Mix and match a variety of colors and patterns with these basic shirts and shorts for a guaranteed effortless vacation outfit.

Hint: Pair a bright colored pair of shorts with a more subdued colored shirt for a great color-blocking effect.
