This past week, temperatures plummeted marking the beginning of the fall season! Raised in the south, I naturally began to panic as I saw weather forecasts in the low 50s. That being said, native New Yorkers responded by stylishly layering their clothing and whipping out their “fall-drobes.” The Fashionisto spotted this week at Fordham was rocking a navy cardigan with a varsity twist. On a cool early fall day, his sweater was practical and comfy. Interesting enough, he spices up his fall wardrobe by incorporating two primary colors, yellow and blue, making a huge statement with this sweater. I also really love how this cardigan adds a varsity jacket kind of feel to the outfit with yellow stripes around the collar and on the letter “C.” This True Religion ‘Richie’ Varsity Letterman Jacket translates a similar look to this Fashionisto’s cool yet laid-back outfit.
Around campus this season, I’ve also been noticing a lot of monochromatic shades of blue paired with a few eye-catching pops of colors. This Fashionisto’s outfit is similar with the combination of his blue-on-blue cardigan, jeans and shoes. The only other splash of color (aside from the yellow streaks in the cardigan) are the burnt orange shoe laces that he chose, which complement the blue in his outfit. This Fashionisto has a very good eye when it comes to artistically making color contrasts in his attire. Maybe he’s an Art major?
Hint: Don’t let the changing weather darken your wardrobe this season! If you’re wondering how to make your closet more weather-appropriate without sacrificing summer colors, choose dark blue and orange suede oxfords like these shoes from Nordstrom. If colder weather hasn’t hit your campus yet, opt for more casual blue and neon orange Sperry Top-Siders to wear with shorts!
