Sometimes the best outfits we create are the ones that are based on a single, remarkable garment or accessory that pulls the whole look together. I snapped this Fashionisto in an outfit that is great on its own, but the small details give it a more stylized feel. This look has a casual feel, but in an incredibly fashionable way.
People say college is a time where we mature into adults and our fashion choices seem to follow. I spotted today’s Fashionisto on a Monday, looking ready for class in jeans, desert boots, a button-down shirt and a camouflage pattern backpack. His polished outfit was a standout, as many students had a case of the Monday blues that translate into uninspired ensembles.
For one, this Fashionisto sports the perfect mix of casualness and trendiness by wearing a fuel blue striped button-down shirt form American Eagle Outfitters. Normally, wearing a striped shirt is the perfect way to look more formal. In this case however, the Fashionisto makes it less professional by wearing an essential navy blue T-shirt inside and undoing several buttons. These changes smartly turned a striped shirt into a chic and saucy look.
Paired along with the shirt is a perfect pair of jeans. These jeans are perfect not only because of their unique design, but also because they are a very Shincho-European brand called Denham, of which the Fashionisto said he purchased in Japan. This simple yet trendy ensemble is finished off with a pair of beeswax leather desert boots from Clarks. The shoes complete the look by still keeping it stylish with their sleek cut.
Lastly, the Fashionisto keeps a pair of vintage style Ray-Ban sunglasses, handy for running around campus from classroom to classroom on a typical Texas sunny day. I love how the camouflage pattern backpack and pair of Audio-Technica headphones instantly elevate this outfit into one that expresses his unique personality.
Hint: A dressing shirt no need just for the formal occasion, actually, you could easily make it your go-to jacket by styling it differently each day. Just make sure the rest of your outfit is a little more daring to look like the most stylish kid on campus!
