Let's Hear it for the Boys

Things that make me smile include, but are not limited to, boys, boys in cool clothes and boys who are not afraid to wear pink or purple. Wearing traditionally girlie colors exudes a sense of self-confidence and fashion ability that not all Fashionistos can pull off. Pantone just announced its color of the year as Radiant Orchid. Now, you may be asking yourself, what the heck is Radiant Orchid? Well, let me tell you, it is really just a fancy name for a blue tinted shade of purple. For a more concrete example, just look at this Fashionisto’s plaid button-down.

When I spotted this Fashionisto outside the dorms I was so impressed with his Radiant Orchid button-down. Not only is it spot-on with the color trends, but with the pattern as well. We have come to love all types of plaid this season and they seem to not be going anywhere for the spring. Which, might I add, is totally fine with me since I just bought five plaid button-downs. Shopaholic problems.

The rest of his outfit provides the perfect surroundings for his bright button-down. He opted for a classic pair of denim and a beige suede desert bootie.  In attempts to bundle up against the Arctic freeze that has hit Boston, he choose a cozy brown sweater. Or wait, is it brown? Plot twist, when you take a closer look you see its brown with stitching details of red and green. To give his look one last accessory he classically draped his Ray-Ban Wayfairs on his neck line.

Basically, the moral of this write up is that only real men wear pink and radiant orchid.

Hint: If you want to be perfectly on trend for spring take a look at Pantone’s color pallet. Some big drivers for this spring are Cayenne, Dazzling Blue and Radiant Orchid.
