LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Present Yourself

Let's Hear it for the Boys

For most college students there is nothing more nerve wracking than having to give a presentation in front of the class. Then add the pressure of having to dress in “business-casual” attire and most people are simply lost. Coming up with an outfit to give a presentation in is a daunting task. You tend to follow suit with those around you as far as tie or no tie, tucked in or left out, even dress shoes or loafers. These thoughts for many guys are just about enough to pull you under. That’s when I spotted this Fashionisto on campus just having finished his presentation, finally looking relaxed!

He wears a orange and white plaid button-down shirt. This Fashionisto went with a relaxed look post-presentation and wore his shirt untucked over his khaki dress pants. Khakis are an absolute staple to a man’s wardrobe and can be worn in so many different settings, so make sure you have a pair in your closet. Atop his plaid shirt our Fashionisto wears a black wool button-down, but he wears it open acting almost as a cardigan. While this one by Theory is a bit on the pricier side, they do exist for much less money like this one from L.L.Bean. This Fashionisto finished off his outfit with a pair of Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes. These kicks are comfortable enough to give a presentation in, walk campus in and then some so they might be the right choice for you if you’ll be on your feet all day.

Like I said, giving a presentation can be intimidating so you may as well go up there confident in knowing that you look your absolute best!

Hint: If you’re not into rocking a plaid shirt, go for a solid button-down. The best part is that they come in a ton of colors so your mixing and matching opportunities are endless. Also, don’t forget that it’s fall now so layer up and own that presentation!
